My son has had trouble since birth with acid reflux. He takes it by spells. He has been hospitalized twice so far with it. He started throwing up last Wed. night. So far all the tests have showed is constipation.

He has been on Miralax and Milk of Mag since then but as of date no major bowel movements. He goes twice a day but just his regular amounts. He vomitted 5 times yesterday.

I know there are several people on here that have dealt with constipation but has that ever caused your kids to vomit?

Any suggestions while we are waiting on the specialist?

We haven't had vomiting with constipation, but I know that acid reflux can cause vomiting.

Have had issues with constipation with Sophia, my non D child. I have to say that the drs were less than helpful. through trial and error, we figured out it was due to milk protein, once we eliminated it from her diet, she has been fine---as long as no sneaking (easier said than done with a toddler who loves chocolate:rolleyes:)

We went to an allergist who said she doesn't have an allergy, the GI dr was of no help---said nothing is wrong. Finally ended up in ER and xrays showed she was full of poop. Enemas wouldn't work at this point, they suggested magnesium citrate which you can buy over the counter.

I would recommend keeping a food diary. I have noticed that if she consumes even the smallest amount of milk protein, she will have issues a good 48 hours later.

I also went to a naturopath who put her on some supplements which help. Probiotics also won't hurt!!

Hope you all get some relief, I know how hard this is for the entire family:(

My 6 year old son has a problem with acid reflux and vomiting--but constipation is not at all a problem with him so I don't know if I'm any help or not. But every so often he will go to bed at night totally fine, then wake up an hour or so later and will throw up, then go back to bed and be fine. He was finally diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Zantac for a few weeks. It will occasionally flare up and he will do this about once a week for a month or so, then he'll go for months and be fine. Anyway, like I said, no constipation problems for him, though--you could set a watch by him!
