The kids and I will be going to pick apples tomorrow and I am dreaming of making a totally yummy dessert that we had last year. The whole family is meeting at my mother's house to re-roof her garage and clean up the yard on Saturday and I would like to bring it to go with dinner. I cannot find the recipe and I think it came from somebody here. It had cut up apples and snickers and maybe some whipped topping and cream cheese....

Does anybody know what I'm talking about and would you please post the recipe?

    Thanks so much!

OK: from the kids section of the Clearview (MN) school cookbook which my mom sent me years ago: 2 versions:

    Snicker Bar Salad version 1:
    4 small bananas, cut up
    3 apples chopped
3 lg. snickers bars, cut up
1 large container of cool whip

    Mix together and refrigerate

    Snicker Bar Salad version 2:
    4 apples
    4 snickers bars
    1 8 oz. cool whip

Peel apples and slice in small bite sized pieces. Cut Snicker bars in bite sized pieces. Mix with Cool whip. Chill and serve.

I think I tried this a time or two. Not bad, really.:D

Thank you! I know I didn't add bananas so it must be the second one.

    Here's another one.

The butterscotch pudding makes it yummy!

6 Snickers candy bars, chill and chop
6 apples, cored and chopped into bite sized pieces
1 (12 ounce) container Cool Whip
1 (5 ounce) box instant butterscotch pudding (NO milk, use dry mix, DO NOT prepare!)* can substitute vanilla pudding if you choose

1 Mix cool whip and dry pudding mix together.
2 Chop apples and chilled Snickers.
    3 Mix together.

I've made the Weight Watcher's version, and liked it.
There are no Snickers in this one.:p

    Taffy Apple Salad

1 (8 ounce) container fat-free cool whip, thawed
1 box sugar-free fat-free butterscotch pudding (Do not prepare)
1 (20 ounce approx.) can crushed pineapple with juice ( do not drain)
    3 -4 apples, chopped
    Directions:
Add pudding to pineapple and stir until disolved.
Fold in cool whip and apples.
    Chill until serving.

I don't really use a set recipe. Just add whateve fruit I have to the snickers, cool whip, I love to put the bananas, and grapes in it also.
