    It's important to note that the test only helps diagnose one type of monogenic diabetes, HNF1a or MODY3. MODY3 is also the MODY that tends to have a lower renal threshold for glucose. Unfortunately neither of those markers help diagnose any of the other 9+ MODY variants....
