So we had our 504 meeting yesterday and we were talking about my DD and figuring out all that we want to do with her. And at the end of our meeting the school nurse told us that she is very familiar with type 1 diabetes. Her son was diagnosed at 23 months and now he is 19 yrs old. Now I would never wish diabetes on anyone but it gives me a huge relief knowing that my DD will be taken care of at school.

My nurse does not have diabetes, but one of my teachers has a brother with diabetes. It just makes you more omfortabtle with everything.

Don't worry, the nurse will do her job. The school nurse at my school does. They will have taken special training just for diabetes.
