I know this topic has been up before. I searched and searched but didn't find it. So, I am starting a new one and hopefully some of you won't mind answering again. I am looking to get a PDA (cellphone, I think this can be done) that is capable of holding the carb info from Calorie King on it. I think it would be so much easier than always carrying the book because we never have it with us when we need it! Can you please tell me what type of PDA you have and what you download off of Calorie King?

    Thanks.

Yep, that's what I use. I have Calorie King downloaded to my Palm Treo. It will work with all Palm OS. ( I think.) I love having it on my PDA...one less thing to carry.

Book, website, etc. with nutritional information on tons of food. For example, try the search feature on www.calorieking.com for the info on a food of your choice and see what you get.

You can have it on a Pocket PC as well. I prefer the Pocket PC because it's programmable with C#.

    FOOD DATABASE FOR POCKET PC
Easily browse and search over 50,000 foods.
    More info...

    Price: $14.95

I think the Calorie King software for your PDA is something you have to buy. You can also get nutritional info (including carb counts, of course) downloaded to your PDA from the US Dept. of Agriculture - for free. Someone posted the website here before.

I use the palm treo and I have the UDSA info on it. I found that with the calorie king software (which you have to pay for) you can't just download the food, its the whole package of "diet" software you have to get for the Palm OS. I found it a bit unwieldy. If you have windows os on your handheld the software isn't as chunky - it's only the food database, but you still have to pay for it.

Here is the FREE usda site:

And if you use a Palm device you are SOL. No food database you gotta get the whole diet manager. for 29.95. and more bloat on the device.

The book is 8 bucks. How is it twice as much money to down load a Poctet PC database as printing a book and twice that to put the database in a palm treo?
