I'm posting again because I forgot to include a hyperlink in my last post to the full job description for this PAID summer job position.

I'm a mom with a 12 year old son with diabetes. Each summer he attends a 7 week sleep away camp in Upstate NY. I'm searching for a summer counselor with diabetes experience and pump experience to attend the summer camp with him.

If you have a son who you feel might be interested and is looking for a summer job, I would love to hear from you.

Please respond back or feel free to email me at:

marla.fersten@amgmedical.com and I would be happy to email you all of the information.

    Take care,

    Marla Oringer

    Hi Marla,

I've sent the info to my son, Alex. He will be 19 in June. I have no idea if he'd be interested in this but I know the upstate NY area is beautiful and he needs money! LOL I imagine, if he is at all interested, he will want to know what the pay will be and what other duties there will be aside from being there for your son.

    Hi Barbie,
Thanks for sending the job description off to your son.
I have been out of town and just got back. As of yet, I have not heard from your son.

To answer your questions, your son would actually be employed directly by the camp. Camp Echo Lake would hire him as a cabin specialist and he would work in a cabin with other counselors to look after a group of boys. My son would obviously be part of this cabin. Your son would have to contact the camp to find out what this year's salary would be. Over and above that, there would be a supplimental income for his diabetes knowledge and care for my son. The camp and I have hired successfully for the last 7 years ( I actually have an older son with diabetes too)
There are counselors that we hired from previous years that I can as well put your son in touch with to answer any or all questions he may have.

    Take care,

    Marla Oringer
