What are my options if my 18 year old type 1 diabetic son is being denied his high school graduation and diploma due to attendance issues (high blood sugars), even though he has 5 A's and 1 B for final grades?
You probably won't get many answers on this board - try the Parents board. But, does he have a 504? If not, it might be a harder issue to fight. I know that my daughter's school has a policy that after a certain # of absences, there are issues with grades and passing, regardless of performance on the days they are there.
