Hands down....Unchained Melody from the Righteous Brothers, that scene in Ghost is the best...and we danced to it at our wedding after being apart for nearly 9 months. Close second is Clapton's Wonderful Tonight.

    Oh, my love
    my darling
    I've hungered for your touch
    a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
    are you still mine?
    I need your love
    I need your love
    Godspeed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow to the sea,
    to the sea
to the open arms of the sea
lonely rivers sigh 'wait for me, wait for me'
I'll be coming home wait for me

    Oh, my love
    my darling
    I've hungered for your touch
    a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
    are you still mine?
    I need your love
    I need your love
    Godspeed your love to me

It would have to be Ne Me Quitte Pas by Jacques Brel...

...although becoming "the shadow of her dog" may ultimately prove to be anticlimactic.

Yeah, the music and "mood" is great, but the lyrics are a bit of a downer.

Two oldies that I love are The Way You Look Tonight and I Only Have Eyes for You, especially if they are sung by Frank Sinatra or Michael Buble. ;)

More contemporary favorites are Clapton's Wonderful Tonight and Aerosmith's Don't Want to Miss a Thing.

Paul Davis is dead? Man, I missed that. Checked Wikipedia. Died of a heart attack April 22, 2008. Wow. Didn't know that.

    Great song, btw.

I love "Open Arms" by Journey.

For Amy and I, our song is "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS. It sort of tells the story of no matter all the hell we've been through together, we will always be together.

Wonderful Tonight is just beautiful. I use Youtube as my "radio" at work, and you've all given me some great ones to add to my playlist. Our web filter blocks streaming, so no radio.

Thanks! That was cute! When I watched, I saw a link for Rod Stewart's version of the song and remembered that I liked that too. It was on his CD American Songbook (I think that's the name) and he does some nice covers of old standards. There is a duet with Queen Latifah - the name escapes me now - that is really pretty.
