How did it go today with the insulin start?
Thanks for asking. The time at the hospital went well. We were out by about 10:15am I think. Melly had brought Dr. D a piece of birthday cake (it was her birthday yesterday and it is his this month) but he wasn't in until after we left.
Now we have been fighting lows most of the day. We have already dropped her basal by .1 when C. called to do the end of day check and she is going low again now. I think it is going to be a sleepless night of lots of checks. I guess this is kind of what happens when they have to guess your insulin dose to start.
We were testing hourly Phillips first night on the pump. His specialist actually admitted Phillip to hospital so the nurses could test, but that didn't happen. I had to do it anyway, as they were too busy. He was running low all night too.
Yikes! I am a bit late with this- I hope you guys got some rest. Sending "in range" bg vibes
Glad all else went well
Good luck! I was told that its a long process getting started..but once you have all the number correct its great. Hang in there!
I just read back and saw that your insulin start date is coming up too! Please let us know how it goes
