local tragedy

    What do you do when something like this happens and the only contact you have had is facebook friends? The mom and I were buddies early high school and then kind of lost track.

    I don't want to put the family in an uncomfortable position, but its obviously very public now. I'm thinking maybe just send a card?

    I agree with the card, or perhaps find out if there is a memorial fund being set up. How awful...

    I saw this on the news last night and it is heartbreaking. I think a card would be appropriate, and maybe a call at a later date if you would like.

    I saw this on cnn this morning and my heart just broke. I think a card is a great idea

    This is so sad and tragic. I hadn't seen it on the news. I would send a card with a short note and if you wish contact the mom at a later date. I'm sure they are devastated
