No, it'd probably just get pronounced wrong once your kid gets to school. ;)

"Susie? Here! Joe? Here! swidsmileyface (CWD:cwds:)? I don't wanna be here." :p

Do they allow you to put symbols in your childs name? 'Cuz I would do Nyquie<3. It is more exciting than just Niquie!

Well, you can do accent symbols (ie Ráchelle, José) so why can't you use symbols?

Umm, I know this is the teen section, but guys/ladies, its the sperm that determines the sex of a child.

I thought that it was the female, or atleast, produces something or other that makes the sex of the baby a female?

Female really doesn't have a part in determining gender, it is definitely the male, since the female has 2 X's, And a male has one X and one Y. You need the XY to make a male. So the mom definitely gives the kid an X, with the father it is a coin toss between X or Y.

It's possible she could have been thinking of Turner syndrome, where either the mom's egg or the dad's sperm doesn't have a sex chromosome in it, and the baby ends up female with only one X because the Y determines if it's a boy. You only really NEED one X chromosome to live. (Your body even switches off one of the X chomosomes in some of your cells if your sex chromosome genotype is XX.)

But if the egg is the one with the problem and the sperm delivers a Y, the baby won't survive because the woman's X (or the guy's X if the egg didn't have one) gives the gift of life, and the X/Y from the sperm just gives you extras (like if you're a girl, you need two X's to normally mature sexually).

Sorry to get so technical. [IMG] :p ;)
