My nearest would be about 10 minutes drive away in the hospital which I work, actually I share a break room with the staff from the department.

I travel about an hours drive away to see my endo and nurse, I have MODY diabetes so want to see a MODY specialist, so the drive is worth it. I have been under the same team since I was diagnosed so they know my whole history.

my old one used to be about 30-45 minutes away, but it was honestly a really crappy doctor...i wasn't on lantus or anything like that, only novolog, and my bg's were ALWAYS high. we thought i was low if my sugar was 150. but now we go to an amazing doctor about...1 1/2-2 hours away. it's worth it.

Samantha's pediatrician is also her endo..which is way cool..no question about which doctor to go to!!
He wasn't her doc when she she was diagnosed, I switched to him after our 1st visit, and her doctor gave me a hard time..I just felt that would work better for us. And Dr Wenick is very thorough..Sam was behind on her shots, etc.
On the other hand, I have to say I didn't have a choice...he was the ONLY endo my insurance would cover!!

We drive an hour (UVA) -- it's the closest pedi endo to us. We usually make a day of it -- shopping and going out to eat. Of course, we are usually at clinic at least 2 hours, so we're usually ready to get something to eat when we leave there!

Over 40 miles I think. One hour away in traffic.

There is a closer one but we like this group.

We have about an hour and 15 min. drive, not much traffic in VT and NH. I would love to go to Boston but DH doesn't want the longer drive with the crazy traffic. Considering I am the one who does most of the appointments it shouldn't matter to him.

We go into Boston, so it can take as little as 35 minutes (with no other cars on the road and making every traffic light) but in reality it is about an hour. I usually leave about an hour and a half before his appointment to be safe. Sometimes we just make it.

We drive 6 hours each way to Stanford. There are none in our area and Stanford is only a little bit farther. I wouldn't change our endo. Because of the distance we only go every 6 months.
