How do you store your back-up pump?

Found a nice surprise today. The MM Paradigm 722 which we got from the hospital here is ours. All the while I thought it was being "rented" to us. Turns out we've been paying for it ...
So now we have a back-up pump. Since April I've been making sure it had a battery and a cartridge with insulin, etc...

Can I just keep it in the box without a battery?

 

I would take out the battery and the insulin and store in a place you can remember. It takes only a few minutes to set one up. Batteries can corrode over time and the insulin can go bad.

 

Yes, I just keep our spare without the battery in it.

 

Ours sits in a drawer, no battery in it. I probably should keep it in our emergency grab and go box...

 

Good idea. I have an earthquake waterproof bag - I should keep it in there.

 

Our back up is stored without the battery, in a ziploc bag in the diabetes coset.

 

UMM, kitchen diabetes drawer.

Going to put it in a ziplock in the extra D Kit.

 

How does one come to own a backup pump....?
