Well, I'm on my way to the hospital on Monday on the orders of my endo.
They want tests to be done to see if I am "allergic to insulin". My question is, what do they plan on DOING if I am?

They just figure I'm taking WAY too large of doses for a person of my stature. My insulin to carb ratio is really off the wall. Ugh.
    I DON'T WANT TO.

    Good luck.

Are they looking for an actual allergy, or an immune response to the insulin (e.g. anti-insulin antibodies)?

I did a quick Google search and found that for patients allergic to human insulin, the prescribe Insulin Aspart, which IIRC is Novolog :)

I believe they're testing for both, just in case.
And that's good to know, Kim, because I really am worried.

    Sigh. C'est la vie, I suppose. :\

Haha, sorry, I haven't been on in a bit. I was in the hospital from Monday to Thursday and nothing was really concluded... they did change me from Levemir to Lantus and that seems to be helping a bit. But that's pretty much all they did. :3
