Like the title says I have not flow since 2004 and I need some help. I am taking my 2 year old w/me. I want to know if I can take his sippy cups w/drinks onto the plane. Can I take snacks too. We are flying American Airlines. Thank you so much for your help:confused:

Yes, to all the snacks you can carry. Yes, to the sippy cups, but they will be easier to deal with if you take them through security empty and buy a water/milk/juice on the other side before boarding. You might be able to get through with a few ozs of liquid but they could be strict about it and make you empty it:rolleyes:.

I do not think they will allow drinks in the cups. Personally, I would take the cups, remove the tops and put them in my carryon luggage and then buy drinks on the other side of security. They will allow snacks and you don't get much food on flights now, so take plenty. Check out the TSA website but basically, you can take ONE 1 quart bag with as many 3 oz containers of liquid (shampoo, etc) as will fit into that ONE bag, per person. So you could fill 3 oz containers with juice or milk if you wanted. But I'd buy it on the other side. They will also confiscate anything that is knife like including corkscrews (ask my dad!)

As others have said, snacks are definitely no problem, the sippy cup itself is not a problem, as long as it's empty, you can buy whatever you need to put in it past security... just expect to pay a premium for it :(

so sorry about your grandma! Last time I flied I kept an empty sippy in my purse and bought milk once we got past security-I remember it being expensive and hard to find just plain milk, it was all chocolate lol. I wish I would have brought two empty sippies cause on the plane they gave us ice water in cups and my son wanted it but wasn't good at drinking out of a regular cup at the time, he had already had milk in the cup so it was dirty.
