Carson did an entire site change by himself start to finish. Which included loading the cartridge with insulin, putting it in the pump, filling the tubing, prepping the site, inserting the site, filling the cannula, etc.

He's been able to insert the site many times before, but never done the entire thing like filling the cartridge with insulin and getting rid of the air bubbles, stuff like that. Very proud of him! And it's a relief to know he can do it in an emergency.

Not proud of how it came up -- pump ran out of insulin, I was out doing carpool driving and had forgotten to put more insulin in it, he had made himself a frozen pizza at home and was hungry..... oops.....

Hey, sometimes necessity is the mother of invention! Way to go, Carson!

    That's great!

All the better that he did it out of self-interest rather than parental nudge :cwds:

That is really awesome!! I was just asking my (soon to be 8) yo when she thought she would be ready to learn how. It is great in an emergency situation like you described to be able to as soon as possible.
