Well Deanna started on the OmniPod on Sept 9th and went back to her MM last night..it just didn't work out for her, her insulin needs are just to high and the pod failures and osculations and tape issues were just to much..she loved being tubeless but having to change a pod every 24 to 36 hours was just to much work.

Ugh..... we know what that's like. :( My son went back to MDI after the omnipod... TWICE. Just too many pod changes due to occlusions, pods falling off, high #'s which led to ketones (that he never had before), etc.

Sorry to hear that, if you ever try again try Tincture of Benzoin spray before putting the pod on. It works great for keeping it on.:cwds:

Molly's been using hers for over 2 years now. We've had a ton of errors lately. Way more than before! I can totally understand your frustration. Hopefully as Insulet's technology improves, Deanna can go back to being tubeless if she wants to.
    Take care:cwds:

That's too bad .... we absolutely love ours as well. We did have a bad batch that we had Insulet replace - I suspect they were damaged in transit but the new shipment has been 100%.

Mostly we loved the Omnipod..loved how easy it was to not think about what to wear (no tubing to have to deal with :D) loved the automated insertion, easy to bolus for food, the feeling of being "free" from a pump..but the pod failures and bulkiness of it was a hurdle..we had problems on where to place the pod, and she already needed to change pods every 24 to 36 hours because she uses more than 100 units a day, we knew this was an issue before going on the pod, but we were willing to deal with that, but when you add pod failures (we had 5 in 1 month) and the adhesive coming off the morning after we just put it on, we were changing pods every day...just to much work.. hopefully OmniPod will make the pod where they will hold more insulin and work out the kinks about the pod failures..even tho they will replace the failed pods its a hassle not to mention the wasted insulin, you can get some of it out but not all of it...It just didnt work for Deanna but I know several kids who LOVE it..
