Can anyone tell me if having the urge to go to the bathroom all the time, but not having any pain when urinating is just something you have to put up with when daughter is working on getting rid of ketones? Sorry to those if this may sound like a stupid question. But she has had this quite often, and i am wondering if she should could have a urine infection or something else. She has been dealing with ketones for the past few days, getting it down. but almost got to the point of having to go to the hospital. Any one with caring advice please. Thanks

Are you giving her a lot of water to get rid of the ketones? Also, what has her bg's been like?

With high BGs and high ketones, yes, it is normal to urinate more.

    What are her BGs like?

The kidneys filter excess glucose from the blood and get rid of it via urine. For some people, that threshold is 160 mg/dl, for others it is more and for others it is less. If a person's BG is above whatever threshold their body tolerates, the kidneys generate more urine to rid the body of glucose as best as it can.

    Hope that helps.
