Fine tuning. Is advanced basal programming the fix for this?

Check out the graph below! We've been seeing this pattern for a few days now. No significant meal spike due to aggressive meal bolus, but a slow creep upwards until about 1-2PM, then an afternoon crash. I'm thinking I should raise the late morning to mid-day basal, maybe cut the lunch bolus a tad and reduce the afternoon basal. Would that flatten the curve?

Yes, unless the afternoon crash is caused by aggressive corrections (your attempts to get him down after hours of unresponsive highs). In that case, get the morning under control, and the afternoon crash might fix itself (and it might not). I'd try raising basal at 7 or 8am until maybe 1, and see how that goes.
