    Hello everyone,

Can someone please provide me with a list of books that would help educate someone who is newly diagnosed? The person is around 30 yrs old, and just newly diagnosed T1D. I know there is a list here somewhere, I just can't locate it.

    Thank you,
    Kathy

    That is a long list!

In my opinion, the best books for a newly diagnosed person are:

Think Like a Pancreas, by Gary Scheiner
Type 1 Diabetes, by Ragnar Hanas
Using Insulin (or Pumping Insulin), both by John Walsh

I'd tell them to start with Gary's book. It's written in a particularly easy to understand, but very useful format.

Or start with Hanas' book :p My personal favorite, easy to understand, good table of contents and index, can be read in parts or in total. Excellent users quide for all things Type 1;)
