We were having some problems making calls today. However, I haven't had any issues texting.
I am happy to say that my clinical has been cancelled for tomorrow morning and I don't plan on going to my one class if it doesn't get called off. I am staying home my dad and brother. You could try watching the news or tv shows online. No you can't watch tonights episode but it could be temporary fix to your problem as you can still watch your favorite shows.

In IL...we are ICE covered where I am. It has been freezing rain or sleeting since yesterday at noon. Our flag pole (aluminum) snapped in half today due to the weight of the ice and the wind blowing so badly. Our trees have some broken branches, and are droopy from the amount of ice on them. Our electricity keeps flickering, but so far has stayed on. If we lose power...we lose water too. The kids got out of school at 1:30 yesterday, out today, just found out we are out again tomorrow... We have had 12+ inches of snow days this season. I am so sick of this !!

My dad drives a Semi and hauls the Mail...he is stuck over in Missouri in a road going to a truckstop. He is about 50 miles from Kansas City, and they shut I-70 down, so he is stuck there. Its pretty bad out over there he said...

I hope everyone dealing with this storm stays safe and warm...

It is very, very bad right now. Governor Walker has declared a state of emergency. The national guard is out helping stranded motorists. Freeways are closed because of the blowing snow. We are getting a lot of lake effect snow from Lake Michigan as well as the heavy thunder-snow coming from Illinois and they have it as bad and even worse than us in Southeast Wisconsin. My driveway looks completely clean. That's because all of the snow has piled up about 5 feet next to my garage.

Wisconsin is closed for business tomorrow. All schools are closed. Government offices are closed. Many stores are closed. No deliveries, no mail. Even the police and fire trucks cannot drive anywhere without a snowplow escort.

We are being warned by public officials to stay home and not venture out on the roads which are currently impassable.

Everyone stay safe and warm! We got caught in the ice storm of 2009 and I never want to go through that again. I feel for all of you and hope your power lines hold until everything starts to thaw.

WOW is all I can say from the northern Chicago burbs. My husband is calling it a BLIZZASTER.

Woke up to snow completely covering up to the top of our 2nd story windows. (There is a porch roof right outside our bedroom windows.) There is at least 2 feet outside (the fire hydrant is completely covered, can't even see where it was) and it is still coming down HARD.

And my kids are going out to play in it. Now. At 8am. In DH7's words "mom, we can make a huge snow fort just from the snow on the front porch!"

Everything is cancelled today including the pedi's office!

We got a mix of both snow and sleet so it's a mess here. Our county plus many surrounding counties declared a snow emergency last night and shut down all roads except for emergency vehicles. It wasn't so much the snow itself but the high wind is what made it a mess. The wind has died down for the moment but the snow is still falling and is supposed to keep falling all day and most of the evening. Justin and a friend of his are on the front page of the Lafayette paper this morning showing them digging their cars out. Go to jconline.com to check them out.

No school Thursday for our kids.

My husband said the firetrucks were getting stuck! He said they had 12 runs last night, and the firefighters are exhausted. The firetrucks could not stop, or it would get stuck. He was saying it was ugly outside, low visibility. And they lost one patient because the med unit could not get there....the paramedics had to walk half a block just to rescue...very tragic.
Car fires, homeless people, old people, just wandering in this blizzard inner city.

At 4 am, I hear my front door open, my nephew stuck out in the blizzard managed to walk thru drifts to get to our house....this is one blizzard we won't forget.

Tuesday afternoon, two of the five buses I was on broke- the transit system is making a valiant effort to keep running.
The library, post office, and museums are closed (yep, I was thinking it would be a perfect day to go to a museum). My school on Tuesday was open although some kids' parents pulled them out early. My Wednesday school was closed and my Thursday school will be closed. My diabetes support group decided to postpone their meeting.

The street in front of my house is impassable, but going out by the alley and walking I can get around to see people. Most of the stores were closed today but a few were open, or opened in the afternoon.

I hope everyone has dug out and is safe today. Sub zero wind chills are expected tonight and tomorrow. Here are some images from our day...
