    does the new meter have an IR port/window?

    It does. It works just like the Aviva, but has a cool new look and it is smaller. My son loves the new look and the display.

    Does it use the same strips as the Aviva? Do you still code?

    It does use the same strips and code chip. The code is the only thing I don't like about it. It also comes with a multiclix which is great. The school loves the multiclix, since they don't have to deal with lancets.

    Now for it to come to the USA. I would rather deal with the code chip than having to dial the numbers in. The Diabetes Expo is here in Seattle this Saturday. Accu-check I know will be there. I will ask them.

    The code chip has never been an issue. I always make sure he has a good supply of strips, so the school never worries about it.

    I think this is the first time a new product was released in Canada first...
