Default Could it be...

A step towards THE CURE? We will have to see, but for today I will ponder what that might be like.

If it isn't something enormous then it's a pretty cruel teaser.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Yes, I agree. The DRI website is indeed "under construction". We will just have to see.

If you look at the cache of their page, you can see their research areas. Here is one page:

Maybe we're about to witness a miracle. Although I think a miracle would have been hard to keep under wraps.

I do think that when there's a cure it will come from stoppint the immune system from attacking islets. Isn't this the premise of Denise Faustman's work? I don't see her name mentioned in the work they site.

I expect to hear that a cure is "5 to 10 years away."

I hope it is true. The cynic part of me suspects it will turn out to be a fundraising campaign ploy. Otherwise why the tease? Please God let it be true.

That is how I feel right now too, and I'm already mad at myself for letting a sliver of hope in.

Well o.k. so I ran across this video that I saw earlier and me thinks it is part of whatever this "news" is supposed to be tomorrow. Perhaps that they are actually going to get approval to do the transplants here? Not sure, but alas, the last sentence of the video is surely to make many of you veterans here shake your head.

If it was so earth shattering why couldn't this guy just tell us what it is and give all the details tomorrow? My hopes are not raised a bit because of this.
