Default My DS thoughts...

Today, for some unknown reason, Tyler says to me in the car on the way home from school (as he is testing his bg) "You know Mom, I would rather they found a cure for cancer or even autism before they find a cure for diabetes." Of course I had to ask where this came from...and he says, well cancer you can die from and the treatments for cancer are really painful and make you sick and for kids with autism it can be hard for them to do everyday stuff...so I think they need to find cures for those two things first.

I am not sure how his thought process got to this place today, but I am happy that he is still in a good mind set and dealing with his diabetes so well.

Now that is precious in so many ways. He is certainly thinking of others before himself and he obviously does not think of diabetes as taking over his life (which is wonderful).

Well, Im gonna go cry now Jen What a sweet thoughtful boy Tyler is. I hope they find cures for all of these things very soon. Until then, we have people to look up to like Tyler to show us how to deal with it

Wow, I LOVE your kid!!

I have to admit that even as a parent of a cwd, D is not first on my wish list of stuff to cure. An Aspergers/Autism cure is what I wish for with every birthday candle.

This is so important for new parents of D kids to see--it DOES get better and even the kids think so. Great job on raising a fine boy!!!
