amoxicillin
hi
my daughter is on amoxicillin 400 mg/5ml for her cough...its the oral pink colour suspension...now i am wondering that it looks sticky and sweet,what is the amount of sugar in it.. i called the pharmacy,she said that she doesnt see any specification on the medicine for sugar.. maanya was high in the night post medicine all night... wht do u guys say...what should i do? amoxicillin 2 times 400 mg/5 ml pink suspension...

I would say at most, 2 carbs, probably negligible, unless your child is very very young.

If I remeber right when John was on an antibiotic (don't remember which it was) if it has sucrose in it this is a form of sugar and raised his BG. I couldn't find it on the pamphlet they give you but you can call the pharmacy to see if they know.

I don't know the answer to that. I would assume the illness itself is causing insulin resistance and leading to higher BGs.
The best bet would be to put in a call to your pediatrician or even your endo as ask how to deal with this.

Maybe this helps. Scroll down. Seems to be 0.06grs carbs per dosage unit. Very little, IMO.
