Default Do Vials of Lantus and Novolg need to be in the fridge?

I need to do half units, so I got some vials.
The pharmacist said that It could stay at room temp, true?

It can stay at room temp for 28 days, and I think at fridge temp for 3 months once opened.

Oh, wow...if they can be kept longer in the fridge then I've wasted a TON of insulin throwing it out after 28-30 days! Hope someone can clarify that for us!!!!

Unopened vials are good in the fridge until their expiration date. Opened vials "officially" last 28-30 days whether refrigerated or room temp.

OPENED vials only last the same 28-30 days in the fridge or out of the fridge. Once opened they will go bad. As karla said "officially"..lots of people use them longer, but unless you're really in a bind financially and cannot get insulin, why risk keeping them longer?

unopened vials MUST be refrigerated or else they too will go bad in 28 days.
