Default So proud of Elizabeth

She was dx on Dec 10th and is almost 11. She didn't even want to check her BS for the longest time, but has been doing that very well for a few days now. I do it mostly, because she has been having too much 'fun' and going through strips, LOL.

Tonight she gave herself her dinner shots by herself! :-) I was thinking we'd never get there, LOL. She does not like shots at all and she is a fainter when it comes to blood draws. She tends to think about what is happening too much. This was a huge step for her.

Just wanted to share.

That's great! And it sounds like you did a great job giving her time to accept what she has to do with her new life! Great job Elizabeth and mom!

Default Thank you!

Thank you all for all the encouragement you've given us over the last few weeks.

Elizabeth is doing so good. She wants to do everything (except for drawing up insulin) herself now, which is so good.

Congratulations! I posted today about MY Elizabeth testing herself for the first time. I think it will be awhile before she will do shots. It's wonderful to see them take a step forward and do something brave.
