I don't know if Ian's going to go, we were thinking about it but it's kind of expensive and he's not sure if he wants to go yet alone (especially to the February one - it's 3 nights) but he's gone to the grandparents weekend before and we go to a lot of other programs there - and I just love the staff. Danielle Eid is just a total peach. I would feel very safe sending Ian.

I'm thinking about sending my mother and daughter to the grandparents weekend. Does someone oversee the care? I don't think my mother wants to actually do anything...

oh yes! Ian went with my MIL 2 years ago - my mil knows NOTHING. She had to do nothing. The staff even come into their rooms at night and do all the bg checks and treating. the grownups do some classes during the day and some activities with the kids too. It's supposed to be a learning opportunity, but you can't really teach everything in 2 days. Last year Ian got sick and couldn't' go. But I figure that if this one weekend a year is the only time my mil can give to Ian then we'll take it.

Ian wants to go back next year too - to the grandparents.

That settles it then - they're going. I may slow down the car just enough for them to tuck and roll out of it.

I wouldn't even bother to ask my mom to go. She is not only a nurse but she is an insulin dependent type 2. Hanna's pump makes her "nervous." So she won't watch her for me. She is the only grandparent that is available to my kids. My dad and my MIL are in nursing homes and my FIL is not really able to be involved or interested for that matter.
