Default Going to be a sad weekend here

For those of you who are in no mood for sad news then stop reading this now and jump to another thread. The only reason I'm posting this here is because all of you seem to be pros at sending good vibes and believe me, people around here in Monticello will need it.

The news is so tragic I have trouble finding a way to describe it in fact I wouldn't be surprised if it makes national news so I'm just going to give it straight. Earlier this afternoon a Twin Lakes School Corporation school bus (this is the Monticello school district that our boys attend) had a head on collision with a dump truck killing 4 of the 5 passengers. News is all over the place but so far the facts are that a moped made an abrupt stop forcing a dump truck behind it to swerve into the oncoming lane where it clipped the front of the bus. The bus flipped on it's side where the top of the bus met head on with another dump truck that was following the first one and basically crushed the bus. This was not a full size bus but more or less a big van and the 4 that were killed were all special needs children and the only survivor in the bus was it's driver whom from what I hear is in REALLY bad shape and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Indy so the driver may not make it either. The dump truck drivers were uninjured but I bet you both are beating themselves up emotionally regardless of who was at fault.

Monticello has a population of about 6,000 so even though only a handful of families will be directly affected, the tragedy still hits home to the rest of us because this town is very supportive of it's 1 and only school district.

How tragic, I am so sorry for all the families. I will have them in my thoughts when I tuck Manning into bed tonight.

That's awful! First I heard of it. I didn't catch the news tonight so I don't know if it's filtered down to southern IN yet.

Just for the record both our boys are safe and sound but the whole town, including myself, is in a state of shock.
