Default My son only gets one day out of an inset, anyone else like this?

You all were so helpful with my other question, I thought I would post another question to the d veterans.

My son gets one day out of an inset. I have tried ALL insets to no avail. No kinked lines, bubbles, bent cannulas. He just starts getting poor absorbtion and high bg numbers. I thought at first it was just the scar tissue that was the problem. I have now moved to his legs and am experiencing the same thing. I here that some people just react this way to insets. Anyone with same situation? Thank you for your input.

Yes, definitely try a fattier area. Pinch an inch of skin too before inserting.
You really should be getting more than just one day. Check with your endo also for more advice.

I've never used an inset, but didn't get great numbers with Sil, which I "think" are the same, but not sure. I now use Ultraflex, and so far so good!

Call around to different pump companies and get samples of their sets

Well, some people are sensitive to teflon so it could be scar tissue related to that. We used to use the Insets, but now use Rapid D's which is a steel cannula set. Jacob tolerates the steel cannula very well and has almost no scar tissue. We don't have absorption issues. I try to change sites every 3 days but sometimes it goes to four days and it's still not an issue.

We used to get only 2 days out of a Inset. We get 4+ out of the Inset30s. Maybe you should consider an "angled-in" set
