Is there such thing as watches that act as blood sugar meters? For example, the one in the movie Panic Room? I understand it is just a movie, but are these really out there? And are they accurate? I would guess that they are expensive and that would also mean a decision between the watch and the pump? If they are out there, how do they work?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Visit this site:
http://www.glucowatch.com/us/default.html They are still working the kinks out on these, therefor I wouldn't consider them the most reliable way of checking bg's at this time.

I hear they are not real reliable and leave large marks on your skin (I think they work somehow on suction). Because of the skin irritation, I don't think it would be comfortable/possible to wear one 24/7.

it's actually a very old, and VERY inaccurate device.
If you want a continuous Glucose Monitor, get one of the FAR BETTER new ones: Dexcom, Minimed, or soon-to-be-released Abbott. |
