Default article I wrote

Hi,

Thought some of you might like to read an article I wrote about my son Aaron's diagnosis for Today's Parent magazine:

http://www.todaysparent.com/schoolag...55_4976&page=1

I'm not sure if that's a life link or if you'll have to cut and paste it... I'm a bit of a techno-dummy!

Holly,

You did a great job! I actually saw the article in the magazine (I'm a subscriber) and thought to myself, finally, something written by an actual person with a child with T1, not a reporter/writer giving third party information and then inserting their own misinformation!

I think it was very well written and I like the way you pointed out the differences between T1 and T2, plus taking out the percentage of T1's out of that huge global number of D's in general.

Very well done! I like how it was from a mom's perspective, and didn't give the averages, just talked about what those first few hours are like, but still gave details about what it is like to be the parent of a child with diabetes.

Thanks for representing all of us so well through your story.

Holly, that article was excellant! Great work!! I'm glad you got the symptoms out there. That's my major thing, that the symptoms just aren't out there. Thanks!!

Holly, you did a great job on that article! and kudos to your son on being so capable with managing diabetes.
I love the part where you are questioning the doctor about if its certain the problem is diabetes. When we were in the emergency room my husband asked the same thing and the doctor smiled and kind of giggled, saying there was very little chance it was anything else. It makes me laugh at ourselves now.

Thanks everybody. We got a really nice letter about it from a young woman who has had Type 1 since she was young and had hardly ever seen anything in a mainstream magazine about it. I was really glad my editors offered me a chance to write the story.
