Default hi everybody

I never know what to write on these things.

I'm Lili, I'm 30, and I've been with my husband for 13 years. No kids, one cat.

I'm a librarian and I like to read all kinds of things and watch British tv shows. I love curry, but I'm a vegetarian.

Currently I work (from home - that's a long story) for a large software company.

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in March of 2004 by my first endo, who insisted I was a "typical Type 2" even though I was underweight, very active, and had been on a lowish carb diet for several years. After a year and half of utter frustration because nothing worked, I finally got a different endo. Once I went on insulin, I felt immediately better and the chronic fatigue I'd had for years went away. I did MDI for almost six months, but found it time-consuming to get the results I wanted, so then I went on the pump, which I love.

I'm kind of odd because diabetes doesn't bother me all that much. I'm guessing it's because I was already disabled and had several chronic health conditions. Some people have called me crazy and neurotic because of my intensive management, but I think they must have been imagining how they would feel if they did it. I guess I don't see the problem, when it doesn't bother me and now I'm in the best health of my life.

Anyone not scared off now?

Hi Lili! You're not scary one bit. I've always liked your avatar, very welcoming like I'd like to sit down at a coffee shop and chat away with ya.

Hi fellow curry-lover

Glad to have you on board...and you're not scary at all!!

Love your avatar too...reminds me of a Swiss landscape.

I'm not vegetarian, but love to try vegetarian dishes (I used to be one centuries ago). The only vegetarian thing I don't like is Tempeh...yuck!

I think Tempeh is okay, but I'd put jerk seasoning on it or something like that. I don't like bland vegetarian food!
