Great West Life
Ontario, Canada
Medtronic
Age 11

My company recently switched from Standard Life so I was concerned based on all the issues I've read in this forum that parents have with insurance companies. We just submitted our first bill for sensors, inf sets, etc... and they payed every last dollar.

Standard Life was also very good. We didn't get pre-approval for the sensor, I just purchased it and sent in the invoice and they payed it.

Great West has totally refused to cover my sensors, So has Sun Life, neither of them cover the injection I get in my eye every 2 months either. It's like they want you to be sick and broke and not healthy

Wow, that's what I was afraid of when we were making the switch but our HR person told me that they would give us the exact same coverage that we had with Standard Life. Do you have it through a work plan?

I have a work plan with Sunlife, Hubby has a work plan with Great West Life

Would love to see what your coverage page for supplies says to compare, maybe I CAN win this war! Great West covers all my batteries

Would you say you are satisfied with United? I have an option between them and Cigna for my 10 year old son as I am recently employed at a new location...
