Default I could kick myself :(

Remember that I wrote that I have been sick recently. Yesterday I was so tired. Really tired. I spent a lot of yesterday sleeping. I dropped off Deacon at my parents and took an afternoon nap. Last night, I put everyone to bed early and went to bed myself. I was supposed to wake up at 9 to do the bedtime check on Deacon. I did wake up around 9 but fell back asleep before I could test him. I woke up at midnight and tested him to find that he was 374. I know it was not a rebound from a low. It was from dinner which was mexican lasagna made with flour tortillas, refried beans, hamburger meat, cheese, enchilada sauce and rotel. And the Dibs he had for bedtime snack. If I had tested him sooner I would have caught the high on its way up I am so unhappy with myself for missing the check.

I still feel as though I need more sleep. I guess the antibiotic is helping me realize how tired I really am.

Well, you can't fault yourself for that. We are all so tired sometimes that it just doesn't happen. And, a single high for a couple of hours he can deal with - you found it and corrected it and moved on.

You're HUMAN. You cannot be the perfect pancreas. Now get back in bed and rest some more . Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

Aww, Sara. Give yourself a break. You're a good mommy or it wouldn't bother you that you missed the 9:00 check! Don't let your mind torment you.

I hope you get some rest and feel better soon. It's so hard to deal with the world and its responsiblities when you aren't feeling your best...

I just want to echo everyone else. You're doing a great job. Don't beat yourself up over this. D is just so CONSTANT - we're all bound to screw up every now and then.

Why do you think Dibs are evil? I have only been using them for his bedtime snack for the past few evenings.

Thank you everyone. I am trying to not let it bother me. I am heading to bed early again this evening. This time I am making sure that I test him before I go to bed and then I am able to test him around 11 or midnight. I still am tired from this illness. The exhaustion is hindering my ability to get assignments done too. I hope that if I get enough sleep tonight, that I will be able to work more thoroughly tomorrow.

They seemed to spike Seth really bad...Like the carbs were wrong? If it hasn't done that for you, maybe I'll try them again
