Default Celiac or Thyroid Issues Symptoms??

Can anyone share with me what symtoms they noticed in their child that was diagnosed with celiac or thyroid issues? I've read what the site says about symtoms but I was curious about personal experiences.

I took Jaden to the Endo Tuesday and mentioned some of things that has been going on with him and they sent us to the lab to test for Celiac and thyroid problems. My Endo doesn't check yearly as most seem to do-just test when they believe necessary. Also-does anyone remember how long results take to come back? Lab couldn't tell me and I left vm for Endo office to call me back but recording said to allow 3 days for call back. I don't know if it is a couple days for results or couple weeks.

Any info would be appreciated.

I am not sure about how long it takes to get the results back. DD was tested when she was first diagnosed and came back with elevated Thyroid hormone. Now we get it tested every six months because she is borderline for meds...
I think that you should ask for a yearly blood test for these things and your Endo should send you off for them!

Some celiac symptoms include upset stomachs, bad gas, the runs, and skin sores.

My son is hypothyroid but had absolutely NO real symptoms. He's not overweight, wasn't tired/lathargic, etc. So it was kind of a surprise to us that he was hypo. He was tested at 8 months old b/c kids with Down syndrome often have thyroid issues. So you really just need to go by the test results.

I've also read that diarhrea (sp) is a sign of celiac. We've managed to avoid celiac so far...

Can't speak to thyroid symptoms.

Celiac symptoms that we encountered were constipation, bloated, distended belly, muscle wasting, basic failure to thrive.

Currently when we run maintenance blood work (antibodies), it takes 2 days for the results.

We didn't really notice any hypothyroid symtoms before it was diagnosed almost a year ago. The endo noticed an enlarged thyroid on exam, and then her labs confirmed it. She's on Synthroid now, and labs are good, plus thyroid gland is wnl.

T was dxd with celiac in Dec and had no symptoms that we could detect...only an abnormal screening test in Oct for her annual test. It was off the to gasto for a consult then an upper endoscopy. Then the diagnosis. Other than that she had no symptoms. Doing the screening tests are probably a very good idea at this point.

Emily was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism at the same time as T1D (our Endo tests for the big 3 every year). She had no symptoms of hypothyroidism: She was bone thin, very active and had none of the classic symptoms at all. The Endo did note that her thyroid was enlarged, though.

She takes a Synthroid pill every morning and gets labs done every 6 months. Sure wish T1D were as easy to treat!

Her labs generally take 24 hours to come back, but we don't get a call for 48 hours.

Default thyroid

My daughter has hypothyroidism. We tested every year. Once the numbers started coming back funky, the endo checked every 3 mo. She was never symptomatic because we were on the issue watching very closely.
