Just part of the way through this but thought I would chime in about the date. There was mention about seeing the "new twilight movie", and a "song about being sexy and knowing it". The song Sexy and I Know It was released in September of 2011. So this is a fairly new book.

I think the book is from Canada based on the fact that a portion of the proceeds of the book will go to the Canadian Diabetes Association, so that could explain why we are not as familiar with their protocol. The book was easy to read ( although I couldn't stop tears at some points
 ) but I wished the mom didn't seem so detached and had taken a greater role in the D management. I think the author made a misstep there. The daughter was great though! they got a lot right in the bok I thought. Thanks for the recommendation.

I agree Sooz! When the daughter had that problem at one point, the author made it sound as if the mom was not aware of her daughter's BG's at all, let alone help calculating the carbs. That shocked me.
