It was something that my previous endo knew about and when my records were transferred, I know it said history of an ED. The new endo asked me what that meant and I explained it referred to diabulimia and it was no longer active.

The problem is that in the past this is something that I would not hesitate to own up to because my pump was funded by private insurance. Now it is gov?t funded and by definition, I could lose my funding by asking for help.

If diabulimia is in the DSM as a subtype of bulimia by definition this is something I am suffering with and I do not believe it should dictate how my diabetes is treated, and I know first hand you can omit insulin just as successfully omit insulin on injections or pump. In fact, I tend to think injections might be more problematic.

Anyways, any suggestions are welcome and I realize some people will negatively judge me for posting this and those individuals can also post.

Sweetie, there's a non-profit organization devoted soley to diabetics w/ eating disorders, specifically diabulimia.

Visit www.diabulimiahelpline.org
or call their 24 hour hotline, (425) 985-3635
They'll be able to help you deal with doctors, insurance, and all the issues that arise when a diabetic has eating disorders!!
