We Need Parents and Teenagers for an Online Study

My name is Allison Brown, and I am a doctoral student at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am studying how technology can be used to make managing a teenagers? diabetes easier. I have been working on a tool that will let people update an online health record using text messages. The record can be viewed online from any computer or shared with a family doctor or specialist.

I need your help to evaluate the text-messaging portion of this new tool.

Who we're looking for: people with any type of diabetes (type 1, type 2, or any variants) or caregivers for people with diabetes. Participants must be 13 years old or older and have permission to use a mobile phone to send text messages. Parents or caregivers for children under 13 are welcome to participate.

What we'll ask you to do: complete an online survey about your current diabetes management methods (or the methods you use with your child or dependent) and how you share diabetes information with different groups. You will also try out and evaluate part of a new diabetes management tool. Each person who participates will receive $5 Amazon.com gift card. Each person who completes the survey also will be entered into a drawing for another $20 Amazon.com gift card with a 1 in 60 chance of winning.
