Our endo called and left a message while we were away. She was leaving the hospital practice and said that we should have already heard from the practice. But we haven't heard anything. I don't like that they didn't bother to contact us. Alison has an appointment later this month, so I guess she'll be seeing someone else.
The endo didn't leave a phone number (and it didn't show up on the caller ID). She only said that she would be taking a few weeks off to get settled and that she would be staying local. I am assuming that she has some type of agreement with the hospital clinic so she couldn't give me any more information. I really like her and would like to go back to her when she gets back to taking patients. Any idea how to find out more information? I will ask how to get in touch with her when we go for Alison's appointment later this month; but I don't know if they'll give me any info. Should I call the clinic and ask them what's going on? Then they would know that the dr. had contacted us. I know I want to express my displeasure at them not contacting us.

Has she already left? Maybe try to google her? Can't hurt to call and ask. We regularly get letters about our ped leaving (teaching hospital), but it never includes information about where they've gone.

Call the office and ask if she's left the practice and where she's gone. They may be cagey about telling you but you have nothing to lose by asking. You should have received a letter from the office informing you of her departure and letting you know who would be taking over her case load. It's assumed that most patience will stay on, but you are under no obligation. Have you googled her? If she's with a new practice, she's probably got a new bio somewhere online.

Just call and ask for her. Then they will tell you she's not with the practice anymore. Then you can ask where is she and say that you haven't received a letter.

Well, the clinic called yesterday to reschedule Alison's appointment with someone else. I did ask them where our dr. was, but they said that she had resigned and they couldn't say anything more. So I guess we'll just see the new endo for now and keep searching the internet. Maybe once she takes her few weeks off, her new location will show up. I wonder what happened between her and the hospital.
Thanks for your help.

It was a bit disconcerting to me. I went there yesterday for a research study on parents of children with chronic diseases. I asked the researcher what happened and she said no one would tell her anything more than that the dr. had resigned. It does seem like something happened.
We have an appointment at the end of the month with the dept. director. If we like her, we may just stay with her.
