Default Thank goodness for the Lantus, no ketones today even with a kinked site.

So we tried a new site last night, Medtronic Quick set, and well since we are also untheethered I did not realised that there was any problem with it.

1st snack check was over 300, 0.1ketones. corrected and bolused for snack.

lunch still 300's and 0.1 ketones. corrected and bolused for lunch.

Please understand that this is the end of the year and are doing all sorts of different things and well changes in wether and the such.

My mistake was that I forgot that she has Lantus on board and that it totally kept her from getting ketones even with sustained highs.

2nd snack she went up to 400/500, called hubby to go to school and change her site, finally figuring out that the site was bad but no ketones because of the LANTUS!

They did great, new site and we had her come down slowly because of after school activities. Took out the bad site and it was kinked at a 90 degree angle! we have not had a kinked site in years!

Great to hear it worked so well. Sorry I missed your previous posts about being untethered. Are you using the Lantus for 100% of basal?

Basically 100%, my dd's biggest basal is at night after she goes to sleep so we are giving a correction at night and then in late afternoon er are giving basically an uncovered snack.
