Humalog vs. Novolog
After nearly four years using Humalog for our daughter's insulin, we changed to Novolog this week. We have seen some things in the past with the Humalog that raised questions, and insurance doesn't cover it as well as they did last year, so with the Doctor's approval we switched to Novolog.
We were only able to get two days on infusion sets with Humalog, and usually only 36 hours. When we studied the quick set we often saw what looked like something forming in the end of the cannula. With the Novolog we only have a little use to go by, but it seems to be working well, but we did have a sight failure with 1.6 ketones and last night my wife found blood in the sight prior to Hope's bath. In the past this meant the sight was done, so it got changed. What are the experiences of pumpers here with Novolog versus Humalog? Did you switch from Humalog to Novolog and see significantly different BG results, longer lasting infusion sets? Any insight is welcome! Thanks in advance!

We changed to Novolog just before Rachel started pumping. She was on Humalog for 3 years. As soon as she started Novo she mentioned that it didn't sting anymore. She had NEVER had a problem with Humalog prior to that. We fill a cartridge (300 units) and use it until it runs out which is about 12 days now. We never have a problem with potency of insulin.
We gave the same amounts of insulin with no changes..
