Yep I can see how anxiety levels would quickly rise as you keep guessing lower and lower while your child keeps saying you're getting warmer.

I believe I once left my mom a message saying "Hi mom, ummm, I'm 29 and I thought you would like to know that. call me." I may or may not have answered my phone the first time she tried calling me
I'm sure she was freaking out. I called her as soon as I soon I saw the missed call.

I haven't done any of those things, but I have:
Not woken up when she was shouting my name and shaking me (at about midday). I woke up a few minutes later to her struggling to check my sugar (she'd never had to do it before) and I was 110, so I'm not really sure what happened there, but I felt SO bad for scaring her! Said: "Hi, I'm 34, by the way. But it's okay, I feel fine." She didn't reply for a few minutes and then she was like, "DID YOU JUST SAY 34!?" (At least I told her!)

Please don't tell me your meter says a word not a number, then tell me to guess which one...of course I guessed "hi" and he thought that was hysterical, so I assumed I was correct...he turned it around for me to see "lo" and he was still laughing!
Besides the few grey hairs I almost had a heart attack to go along with it!!!
