My son has been a full-time student, but wants to go part-time in the next semester as he is not feeling well (17 years on insulin). I am not sure if Michelle's Law applies to his situation, and he will be allowed for 12 months to stay on my insurance while continuing attending college as a part-time student.
I've also been unable to figure out what this new law in NY (#A9038) means for him.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I spoke with our Benefits Dept. at work, and they confirmed to me that under new (Federal) Michelle's Law, my son will be allowed to remain covered through my employer (for 12 months) in case he decides to reduce his course load to less than 12 credits (a letter from his doctor is required).
The new New York Law (A09038) doesn't apply to our company as we are self-funded.
