Default Type 2 or not?

Hi, I am new to this section of the forum. My daughter is a Type I diabetic. I have had two sugar reading in the past month one at 138 and the other at 130. My nurse practitioner wants to put me on Metformin, but I wonder if it is not to soon for that. These two readings are the first ever that I have had over 120. I am also going through other health issues right now.

Sounds like a bit of a rush to medication to me too. Why not try weight loss, diet changes and exercise and see if your BG moves up or down. Your numbers are borderline at worst anyway, and metformin can have some unpleasant side effects.
