I have been hearing bits and pieces about a potentially new style of meter that does not need to prick your finger for a sample.
One I read about uses a patch that you put on for about 5min, then without any contact, you hold the meter over the patch. It transmits some sort of data to the meter/receiver. Suppose to be around 98% accurate. The article I read was a bit old, however, so not sure if this company made it to market or not. Dana's Dad, Ed |

That is the first I have heard of this, I really wish there was a less painful way for stacey to check her sugar, Here finger tips looks like a pin hole factory!

Maybe by patch you are thinking of a continuous glucose monitoring system? There's a laser approved for blood sugar testing,

I heard Animas, or Lifescan was working on something like this. If that is what it is I don't believe it is out, but it may be being used in europe.
