    Default fifth's disease

    Is running like wildfire at Trey's school. I had never heard of this untill today.

    You know, I forgot all about that. Trevor had it when he was like 2. I was so confused about what it was. I will have to do a little research to refresh my memory.

    I used to work for a plastic surgeon and we used to have something called FITH for the patients that were just plain crazy. We'd write it on their file so that if they requested to see their notes they wouldn't know what it meant.

    #$%^&* in the head.

    Rude, yes but a very good way to make sure you didn't operate on a CRAZY.

    That's one of those ones that is dangerous for pregnant women to be around, if I remember correctly.

    Abby had it this past fall. It includes fever, flushing and finally redness that turns into a lacey look on trunk, thighs and face. Once the lace like rash appears, the child is no longer contagous. It's dangerous for pregnant women in first and last trimester, just annoying for everyone else.

    My kids hardly had a fever or felt ill at all with it. Just these bright red cheeks. "Slapcheek" is an old name for it.

    My son just started this(the rash) over the weekend. Like Wendy said, once the rash appears it is no longer contagious.

    My son had this 2 years ago, it was a pain in the butt.. His BS went all over the place and the school had a hayday with it... If I remember correctally it took about 3 months for the rash to go away
