      I hope so much that Mercy doesn't get this. It must be a constant, nagging fear that never leaves you.

      I have another theory -- for what it's worth... :p I think that when you see kids suddenly have a bunch of lows where they have to back way off insulin, it might be because beta cells are being re-seeded (probably from stem cells in the spleen). It might take the rogue T cells a while to ramp up and attack the pancreas again and that's why the lower insulin needs last for a while in some children. It could be due to growth spurts or other explanations that people give, but could be regeneration too. I think that if someone ever figures out a way to stop the autoimmune attack, that T1s' own pancreases will regenerate on their own.

      I have no idea what meter they used. Is there a phone number on the box? Call the number and ask them what meter. Maybe they'll send you a free one in hopes you switch companies.

      I suck at baking any type of cake or cookies...I'm the worst cook ever, I think :( I'll try the recipe you posted though...wish me luck...LOL
      I'm going to the hairdresser today, trim and highlights, yipee...maybe I'll look half-decent. I swear I look like something the dogs dragged in most of the time. I see the other moms at school and they all look so nice and well-dressed...LOL...I envy them ;)
