I am hoping that maybe you would be interested in celebrating your diaversary the same way I am, by going to this event.
I have an email saying that the person writing this blog is also coming.
I know it's a schlep from the suburbs.

      Hi!
Just wrote and deleted on your swap thread, thought I'd post here instead.
I haven't the first clue how the CWD forum works, but my husband tells me that the standard advice for forum moderation is to never claim to moderate for legality and safety. The thing is, if CWD says they will take off posts about prescription meds because it's illegal, then something slips through, CWD is now liable for that. It's like they are part of the criminal act, safety violation, whatever.
Crazy, I know. But you can see that this would mean either leave it relatively unmoderated or take it off entirely, which would be a shame.
But I totally get your concern. I worry most about someone trying to pinch pennies by buying old insulin, etc. But I think the good outweighs the bad.
      For what it's worth!
      Have a great one.

Very cool, did you have clinicals and what not last semester? I bet this will be an awesome break from everything! I'm working at a hospital right now, just paperwork though, and I hope to get a job soon as a nurse assitant to get some more experience. I was a counselor at a camp for kids with diabetes last summer, and loved it!
The week sounds awesome! I geuss we get to learn how to salsa dance? haha that will be interesting! Did you already book your plane ride?

Same here, I could never afford it without the scholarship! lol but I'm sooo excited! It will be my first time traveling as well, and by myself! I'm 19 and I'm going to college at American International College in Springfield, MA for Nursing (I hope to become a CDE :-D) I was diagnosed in 2002 when I was 12, I'm on a pump now, and currently appealing the insurance company for a CGM, so hopefully! :-D What about you?

Tricia- I wanted to say that I am sorry that I offended you on the recent heated post. It wasn't my intention.
I do feel that being disabled is a lovely part of who I am and one of my first reactions to learning that I had diabetes (mixed in with the disbelief and shock and fear) was, YES! Now I'm more disabled/ will be accepted as disabled.

Separately, I had been and am wondering if you might want to meet up with me sometime. I live on the north side of Chicago and am capable of traveling wherever metra, pace, and cta can take me; if the school you go to is somewhere between where you live and where I live, that might be a good choice of meeting places. If you play chess, I would love to talk over a game, and if not, another board game would also work.
I'm in school Monday and Tuesdays, work on an irregular schedual about two days per week, and am not available Friday nights or Saturdays (Friday day and afternoon are fine). Let me know what you think.
