Holy cow. You have been through the ringer, haven't you?
Don't know how you've been as nice to me as you have. . . . . :). Have a beautiful day.

For the record, I do believe there is an objective right and wrong that we all should try to find and live by (and I think most if not all of us do). I do my best to find it, but I'm open to the idea that I am mistaken. If God right now told me I was wrong about everything I think is true, I need to accept that. If God tells me that through you, I need to listen.
You do the same, don't you? Either verbally or just instinctively? You try to figure out what the right thing to do is, and do it?
We have to make our best judgment based on our knowledge and experience, and act on it, otherwise we are paralyzed. Anyway, I do appreciate your constructive criticism and I will think on it, it has pointed out to me a couple things I hadn't realized, I think maybe even though I fight the "holier than thou" instinct I may still have a hefty portion of it lurking. . . Thanks, Lisa

You have got to be kidding me.
I only hope you are somehow misunderstanding all those folks. Seems improbable, though.
I can't speak to it, but at the risk of sounding judgmental I'll say there are a lot of theologies out there, I have great admiration for what evangelicals do in this country and our theologies intersect, but there is a huge Calvinist strain in much of it. Does your family believe in "once saved always saved"? It's not just the idea that if you don't "accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior" you are damned, it's the idea that once you do, you are saved and can never lose that. It colors the way they relate to folks, I think there's a desperation and anxiety at the idea that someone they love may miss the boat. I sympathize, but even though I joke I think it's a pretty bad heresy.

I am very sorry you had to run into that, I did not realize you were talking about during chemo in particular.

Hi! regarding Supreme Court thread -- nothing wrong with the thread, but it will get political, she has very strong beliefs that many people are very upset about. Once threads of this start and then turn political they usually get shut down.
That's all! Not a problem with the thread as it stands at all, that's just what the joke is about!

How is the Omni Pod going? Does Reese enjoy the freedom from shots? Where does he wear his? We have a call into the local Rep. hoping to get the ball rolling for summer. -Wanda
